How to install the NTSLog Service?

Created on 2000-September-26 by Rainer Gerhards.
Updated 2000-October-11 by Rainer Gerhards.

The service program (ntslog.exe) needs to be copied to a local disk. Then, open a DOS box and change the current working directory to the directory ntslog.exe is located in. Then type "ntslog -i". This will install the service.

Please note that this procudure applies to NTSLog only. WinSyslog version 3 and above comes with an automatted setup procedure that does not need any actions. However, for mass rollout, command line installation is still possible.
