The WinSyslog Installer is asking me for a MSI File?

Created on 2004-12-07 by Andre Lorbach and Timm Herget.

This is error is mostly caused because of a conflict with the WinSyslog Installer and another existing installation. Sometimes if applications are using the same components and the Windows Installer for the installation, conflicts happens if one of the applications is  started.

Because the normal Winsyslog setup has the msi file compressed inside the setup file (Which is only uncompressed during installation), the Installer can't find the msi file and opens a file dialog. In this case, we recommend you to do the following:

1. Start the WinSyslog Setup
2. Search for the file "WinSyslog.msi" on your system harddisk, the Setup installer will temporary unpack it there
3. Copy it to some save location
4. abort the Setup

This should work to fix the installer problem.

We are continuously improving the WinSyslog installer to avoid such problems.
